Hyderabad: 40 Dogs Abandoned After Carer's Death
Imagine a kind man in Hyderabad loved dogs and took care of about 40 stray dogs for many years.
He gave them food, medicine, and a safe place to live.
Sadly, he passed away.
When his family took over his house, they didn't want the dogs anymore and wouldn't let them stay.
This made many animal lovers very sad because some of the dogs are very young or sick and need special care.
The animal lovers are trying to help the dogs by finding them new homes and shelters.
They even put up temporary homes for them.
Even though the city officials said they can help move the dogs if the family asks, the family still hasn't agreed to let them help.
The animal lovers hope the family will remember the kind man's love for the dogs and help them find a safe place.
Around 40 stray and sick dogs were abandoned in Baghlingampally, Hyderabad, after their caretaker passed away.
The deceased, Sanjeev Reddy, a retired banker, had cared for the dogs for over five years.
His family reportedly refused to allow the dogs onto the property after his death on October 19.
Animal welfare volunteers have intervened, setting up temporary shelters and arranging for some dogs to be moved to shelters at their own expense.
GHMC's veterinary wing stated they will assist in relocating the dogs if the family requests help.
