India's RCS Adoption Surges 108% as Businesses Embrace Rich Messaging
Have you ever gotten a text from a store or bank?
Normally those messages are simple and plain.
There is a newer kind of message called RCS that is much fancier.
With RCS, businesses can send pictures, buttons, and quick reply options right inside the normal text app.
Many businesses in India are starting to use RCS.
A company called Infobip counts these messages and says RCS traffic in India grew by 108 percent between early 2025 and mid-2026.
That means many more businesses are choosing to communicate this way.
Banks and money apps send most of these messages because trust and security are very important to them.
RCS is also growing quickly in other countries.
Texting with businesses is becoming more helpful, colorful, and interactive.
Infobip recorded 108% growth in RCS interactions in India between H1 2025 and H1 2026.
Finance and fintech contributed over three-quarters of all RCS interactions in India, the largest share.
Globally, RCS for Business traffic grew more than 165% over the same period.
Infobip processed RCS registration requests for 7,300+ unique brands and delivered 14K successful RCS agent launches.
Unlike SMS, RCS combines verified sender identity with rich media, suggested replies and action buttons.
