ED Raids Mumbai, Three Cities in Coimbatore Blast Probe
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched 16 places in Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad on July 30, 2026.
They are looking for money that might have helped pay for a 2022 suicide bomb attack in Coimbatore.
The ED thinks the money came from fake Covid vaccination certificates and donations to a college called Kovai Arabic College.
Twelve people, including the bomber Jamesha Mubeen, are accused of being part of the plan.
The ED wants to find out how the money moved through banks and other accounts.
ED conducted searches at 16 sites in Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad on July 30, 2026.
The operation is part of a money‑laundering probe linked to the 2022 Coimbatore suicide bomb blast.
Searches target bank accounts, financial intermediaries, shell entities, and associates of the accused.
Investigation is based on NIA FIRs and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, focusing on fake Covid‑19 certificates and donations to Kovai Arabic College.
