Rajnath Singh Faces Criticism Over Delay in Honoring Op Sindoor Martyrs
There is a big argument in India's Parliament.
The Congress party says the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, was wrong to wait so long to tell everyone the names of six soldiers who died fighting terrorists.
The minister says he had to wait because of security reasons.
The Congress party is very upset and has officially complained.
This all started when the names were finally announced on June 26, just before the new session of Parliament on July 20.
Congress leader KC Venugopal moved a privilege motion against Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for allegedly misleading Parliament.
The motion accuses Singh of delaying the disclosure of the names of six martyrs from Operation Sindoor.
The government disclosed the names on June 26, citing operational security as the reason for the delay.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament begins on July 20, reigniting the debate.
The martyrs include five Army personnel and one Air Force personnel.
