Telangana Meets Record Power Demand Without Cuts, Bhatti Says

Telangana Meets Record Power Demand Without Cuts, Bhatti Says

Telangana is using more electricity than it did around the same time earlier.

Its highest demand has risen to nearly 20,000 MW.

At the same time, low water levels have reduced electricity from hydel plants by about 4,000 MW.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the state was still supplying power without cuts.

He said thermal power was helping meet demand, especially at night.

He and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy visited the Pulichintala hydel power station.

Bhatti also asked people to save water because rainfall has been low.

He said water may be needed for people, animals and birds before the next monsoon.
