PE-VC Investments Reach Four-Year High at $6.1 Billion
Investment companies put $6.1 billion into businesses in September 2026.
They made these investments through 114 deals.
This was the strongest monthly result in more than four years.
Much of the money came from 12 very large deals.
La Caisse made the biggest investment by buying part of Altius.
Other large investments went to airports and renewable energy.
Investments in newer, early-stage companies became smaller than a year earlier.
However, investments in growth-stage companies doubled.
PE-VC investments reached $6.1 billion across 114 deals in September 2026, the highest monthly level in more than four years.
September investments rose 25% from $4.9 billion across 103 deals in August 2026 and more than doubled from September 2025.
Twelve mega deals generated more than $4.9 billion, compared with eight deals worth $1.35 billion in September 2025.
La Caisse’s $1.3 billion purchase of a 24% stake in Altius was the month’s largest investment.
Early-stage investment fell to $226 million, while growth-stage investment doubled to $1.7 billion in September.
