South African Court Orders Repatriation of Ex-Zambian President's Body

South African Court Orders Repatriation of Ex-Zambian President's Body

Edgar Lungu, who used to be the president of Zambia, passed away.

His family wanted to bury him in South Africa, but the Zambian government wanted him buried in Zambia with a state funeral.

A South African court agreed with the Zambian government, saying that Lungu's body should be sent back to Zambia.

The government wants to give him a special funeral and bury him in the capital city, just like they have done for all the past presidents since the country became independent from Britain.

The family, however, didn't want the current president at the funeral.

The court ruling means the government will have its way.
