Panel Raises Concerns Over Road Project Delays in LWE Zones
Imagine a group of people building roads in areas where it's hard to work because of problems like rebel groups and needing to get permission to cut down trees.
A committee, like a group of important people, is checking on these road projects.
They found out that the roads aren't being built fast enough, even though they were supposed to be done a while ago.
The committee is worried about this and wants the people in charge to come up with better plans and work together to finish the roads quickly.
They suggested using experts, like the Border Road Organisation, who know how to build roads in difficult areas.
The goal is to make sure these important roads get built, despite the challenges.
Parliamentary panel flags slow road project progress in LWE-affected areas.
The Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism Areas (RCPLWEA) was launched in 2016.
The original completion deadline of March 2020 was extended to March 2025.
As of May 14, 2025, 9,523 km of 12,228 km road length was completed.
The Committee suggests improved planning and coordination to overcome bottlenecks.
