Minister Stresses Modern Construction Skills for Workforce
The government is working to make sure construction workers have the skills they need.
A minister said it's important to teach workers new skills to build things better and faster.
There aren't enough skilled workers, which can cause problems.
To fix this, the government is training more workers.
Companies building big projects will have to hire skilled workers or train their own.
Workers are getting certified for their skills, like how to use special tools for building.
Union Minister Manohar Lal emphasized the importance of modern construction skills.
He noted that skilled labor shortages affect infrastructure development quality and pace.
The CPWD is increasing worker training to 25,000 in the next fiscal year.
Contractors must engage at least 20% certified skilled workers for projects over Rs 10,000 crore.
Workers are being certified as Assistant Shuttering Carpenters.
