Andhra Pradesh Ranks Fifth Nationally in Crop Insurance Enrolment

Andhra Pradesh is getting more farmers to sign up for crop insurance this year.

Crop insurance helps farmers receive support when crops are affected by covered problems.

So far, insurance covers 16.15 lakh hectares across the state.

Anantapur has the largest insured area, followed by Kurnool and Sri Sathya Sai.

The state ranked fifth in the country for crop insurance enrolment.

Paddy farmers now have until August 31 to enrol.

Officials are asking farmers to use the extra time and seek complete coverage.

Farmers growing other crops should ask local agriculture officers or insurance companies about their district’s deadlines.
