Kerala Tribal Women Receive Economic Empowerment Training in Coimbatore

Tribal women from Attappadi attended a training programme in Agali, Kerala.

The programme was organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research–Sugarcane Breeding Institute.

It taught ways to earn money from traditional foods and local farming resources.

Experts explained how to improve recipes, package products and sell them.

The women made banana jam as part of a practical lesson.

They also learned about raising goats and chickens.

The training discussed fodder and ways to market livestock products.

Organisers said these skills could help women become more financially independent and have a stronger voice in family and community decisions.
