Foreign Experts Inspect Polavaram Project
A team of foreign experts is visiting India to check on the construction of a big irrigation project called the Polavaram Project.
They will look at different parts of the project, talk to Indian officials, and give advice to make sure everything is being built safely and correctly.
The experts come from Canada and the USA, and they will be in India from January 22 to January 24.
They will visit the construction site and also go to New Delhi to meet with more officials.
This is their sixth visit to check on the project, which is very important for India's irrigation and infrastructure.

The experts examined the progress of construction at various sites, including Gap-1, D Hill, Gap-2, G Hill, the main dam, D-wall, dewatering channel, rock fill, and clay stock.
The inspection took place from January 22 to January 24, 2024, in Rajamahendravaram, New Delhi, and the Polavaram Project site.
The experts were accompanied by officials from the Central Water Commission, Central Soil and Materials Research Station, Central Water and Power Research Station, and other agencies.
The Polavaram Project is one of India's most important multipurpose irrigation and infrastructure initiatives, emphasizing rigorous technical oversight.
