Gold Surveys in Kadiri Area
A big company from the central government is checking for gold in the Kadiri area of Andhra Pradesh.
They found a lot of gold underground, about 16 tonnes spread over a large area.
The gold is close to the surface, and there's enough to make mining it worthwhile.
The government is planning to sell the rights to mine this gold to companies, which could bring jobs and better roads to the area.
This could be a big change for the local economy.
But remember, there was a gold mine nearby that closed a long time ago because it wasn't making money, so it's not guaranteed to be successful.
A central public sector enterprise is conducting surveys to assess gold deposits in the Kadiri area of Satya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh.
Estimated gold reserves of about 16 tonnes have been identified across 97.4 square kilometres.
Gold-bearing layers are found at intervals of 50 metres below the surface, with an average concentration of 4 grams per tonne of soil.
The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing for an open auction of mining rights in the identified areas, potentially allocating 1,000 hectares of land for gold mining.
The mining activities are expected to bring improved infrastructure and employment opportunities to the region.
