Five Karnataka Medical Hostel Canteens Face Food Safety Notices

Food safety officials checked kitchens in medical college hostels across Karnataka.

They inspected 34 canteens and kitchens on August 27, 2026.

Five of them were found to have food safety problems and received notices.

One canteen had issues with how food was labelled.

Inspectors also found seven kilograms of expired rava, a type of semolina.

They detected and seized eight litres of milk stored in a kitchen.

Officials have started legal action against the food business operator.

The operator will appear before the Additional District Magistrate for further proceedings.
