MPSC Aspirants Demand Accountability After Pune Examination Protests

MPSC Aspirants Demand Accountability After Pune Examination Protests

Thousands of students protested in Pune about problems they say are affecting MPSC examinations.

They want the commission’s chairman and secretary to resign.

The protest began after the Drug Inspector Group B examination was cancelled because of alleged paper-leak concerns.

Students said they spend years studying and large amounts of money preparing for government jobs.

They want independent investigations, forensic audits and clearer examination rules.

They also raised concerns about evaluation errors, suspicious results and other examinations.

Politicians including Rohit Pawar and Supriya Sule supported the students and asked the government to respond.

The students gave the government three days to act.

They warned that the protest could become a hunger strike if their demands are ignored.
