Bahrain and Abu Dhabi Funds Acquire Full Ownership of McLaren Racing
McLaren Racing, the Formula One team, is now fully owned by investors from Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
This means the investment groups who previously owned a part of the team have sold their shares.
The deal is worth around $5 billion.
Bahrain's fund will own most of the team, while Abu Dhabi's fund will have a smaller stake.
McLaren runs teams in Formula One, IndyCars, and will enter World Endurance Championship in 2027.
This move is expected to help the team grow and become more successful in the future.
The team is currently doing well in Formula One.
Bahrain’s Mumtalakat and Abu Dhabi’s CYVN Holdings acquired full ownership of McLaren Racing.
The transaction is reportedly valued at $5 billion.
Mumtalakat will remain the majority shareholder.
CYVN Holdings, majority-owned by the Abu Dhabi government, will hold a non-controlling stake.
MSP Sports Capital and other investors acquired a stake in 2020.
