Venkata Sravan Namuduri Builds Data Infrastructure for Public Health

Public-health departments collect a lot of information, but it can be stored in many separate places.

This makes it difficult and slow for staff to understand what is happening in their communities.

Venkata Sravan Namuduri helped the Bear River Health Department bring its information together.

He built systems that move, check and organize data before placing it in a central warehouse.

He also helped create a dashboard that lets health officials see how programs are performing.

The system costs less than $220 each month to operate, according to the CDC Foundation.

Namuduri has also created an AI tool that can find missing, duplicate or incorrect information.

He says AI should support people, not replace careful engineering and human judgment.
