Father Protests Toddler’s Dengue Death, Demands Village Sanitation Action

Father Protests Toddler’s Dengue Death, Demands Village Sanitation Action

A 19-month-old boy named Revanth died after being diagnosed with dengue.

His father, Narasa Naidu, believes dirty conditions in the village helped cause the illness.

He said he had warned local officials about overflowing waste and bad smells.

After his son died, he protested outside the local government office while carrying the child’s body.

Officials came to speak with him and expressed their sorrow.

They promised to clean the village within 15 days.

They also said they would work to control pigs and monkeys near water tanks.

Health officials have not yet confirmed that the sanitation problems directly caused the dengue infection.

The father wants action so another child does not suffer the same fate.
