Iran's UNGA Delegation Faces Strict New York Restrictions

Iran's UNGA Delegation Faces Strict New York Restrictions

Iran sent a smaller group of officials to New York for a major United Nations meeting.

Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi is leading the visit.

The group can move only between the airport, its hotel and the United Nations building.

It is also not allowed to buy luxury goods under US sanctions rules.

The restrictions were imposed while the United States and Iran remain in conflict.

President Donald Trump warned that very big things could happen.

Iran says attending the meeting is its legal right as a founding member of the United Nations.

Iran has attended similar meetings before, even during difficult relations with the United States.
