MNF to Form New Executive Committee in Lai ADC
The Mizo National Front (MNF) and Congress have teamed up to form a new government in the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC).
They have named their alliance the United Legislature Party.
The MNF's leader, C Lalsawmzuala, will be the new Chief Executive Member (CEM).
This change happened because no single party won enough seats to form a government on their own.
Earlier, the MNF was part of another alliance called the Lairam Legislature Party (LLP) with the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), but they left that group to join with Congress instead.
This new alliance has 14 members supporting it, which is enough to form a government.
The LADC election took place on December 3, and the results showed that no party had a clear majority.
The MNF has the most seats with 8, followed by Congress with 7, and ZPM with 6.
There are also 2 seats for the BJP and 2 for Independent candidates.
This new alliance is expected to bring stability to the LADC government.
MNF and Congress form a new alliance called the United Legislature Party to lead the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC).
C Lalsawmzuala, from the MNF, is proposed as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM) with support from 14 members, including 7 from Congress.
The MNF withdrew from its previous alliance with the ZPM, leading to the formation of the new alliance with Congress.
The LADC election resulted in a fractured mandate with no party securing a majority, necessitating post-poll alliances.
The new alliance aims to bring stability to the LADC government after days of political uncertainty.
