Kerala Resolves Vice Chancellor Dispute
The Kerala government has appointed two new Vice Chancellors for its technical universities.
This happened after the Supreme Court got involved because the Governor and the Chief Minister couldn't agree on who should be appointed.
The Supreme Court asked a special committee to suggest names, and now the new Vice Chancellors have been chosen.
The appointments will be reported to the Supreme Court soon.
This all started because there were disagreements about how to pick the right people for these important jobs.
The new Vice Chancellors are happy to start their new roles and want to work together to make the universities better.
Dr Ciza Thomas appointed Vice Chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
Dr Saji Gopinathan appointed Vice Chancellor of Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology.
Appointments follow a prolonged dispute between Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Supreme Court intervened after repeated efforts to resolve the deadlock failed.
A committee headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia recommended the names.
