DRDO Develops Food and Parachutes for India's Gaganyaan Mission
Imagine India is building its own spaceship to send people into space for the first time!
A special group called DRDO, which usually makes things for soldiers, is also helping with this big space trip.
They have created special food that astronauts can eat in space and new parachute systems, like giant umbrellas, to help astronauts land safely back on Earth.
They have also worked with another space group, ISRO, to make sure these new things work really well.
They tested them, and they did a great job!
This space mission, called Gaganyaan, is planned to happen in a few years, and DRDO's work is an important part of making sure it's safe and successful.
DRDO has developed specialized food items and parachute systems for the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission.
The organization has also created specialized landing gears for astronauts.
DRDO is ensuring dual use of technologies developed for armed forces and ISRO programs.
Phase one and two trials of the developed technologies have yielded very good results.
India's Gaganyaan mission is scheduled to launch in 2027, with ISRO planning uncrewed missions beforehand.
