Human Rights Body Exposes Dog Trafficking Racket in Assam
A group called the Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Foundation in Assam, India, has told the police about a big problem.
They say there is a secret group of people stealing dogs and selling them in other places.
The dogs are taken from Assam to states like Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Meghalaya.
The group says almost 1,000 dogs have been stolen since November.
They want the police to catch the people responsible because they think the police have not done enough to stop this from happening.
The dogs are sold for a lot of money, between 8,000 and 10,000 rupees each.
The group is very worried and wants the police to take action quickly.
The Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Foundation filed a complaint with Guwahati Police about a dog trafficking syndicate.
The organization alleges that dogs are being kidnapped and trafficked from Assam to neighboring states.
Nearly 1,000 dogs have reportedly been kidnapped since November, with each dog sold for Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000.
The Foundation claims that the police have not been able to stop the illegal trade despite multiple FIRs being lodged.
The organization demands immediate arrest of the kingpins of the multi-crore syndicate.
