Noida Authority Cracks Down on Vacant Residential Plots
Imagine you own a piece of land in Noida, and you were supposed to build a house on it.
The Noida Authority wants to make sure people actually build homes, not just hold onto the land to sell it later.
Now, if you haven't started building after 12 years, the Authority might take the land back.
If you're already building, you get a little extra time to finish.
This helps make sure there are enough homes for everyone and stops people from just waiting to sell the land for more money later on.
The authority also changed rules for developers who didn't pay up and made new rules for all kinds of buildings.
Noida Authority will cancel allotments of residential plots vacant for over 12 years.
Allottees building can complete construction within a six-month grace period.
The decision was made at the 219th board meeting chaired by Deepak Kumar.
The objective is to ensure land is used for housing, not speculative gains.
Unified Regulations-2025 were adopted, standardizing rules across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway Authority.
