Punjab to add 1,279 buses to state fleet
The Punjab government in India has decided to add 1,279 new buses to its public transport system.
These buses will be added in two ways: some will be bought directly, and others will be leased under a special scheme.
The new buses include regular-sized buses and smaller midi buses, which are better for smaller towns and villages.
The new buses will have special features like GPS, cameras, and better safety systems.
The goal is to make travel more affordable, safer, and to reach places that don't have good bus services right now.
The new buses will start arriving in March and will be added in stages.
