India-US Trade Talks Resume Amid Tariff Issues

India-US Trade Talks Resume Amid Tariff Issues

India and the United States are going to have a three-day meeting to talk about a trade deal.

They want to finish the first part of this deal by December 12.

The US team is led by Rick Switzer, and India's team is led by Rajesh Agrawal.

They are trying to make trade easier and cheaper between the two countries.

The US is India's biggest trading partner, and they want to increase trade to USD 500 billion by 2030.

Right now, trade between the two countries is worth USD 131.84 billion.

The meeting is important because the US has put high taxes on some Indian goods, which has made it harder for Indian companies to sell their products in the US.

India's merchandise exports to the US fell by 8.59% in October due to these taxes.

India wants to reduce these taxes to boost its exports to the US.
