India's Road Deaths Rise in 2024
In 2024, India had a sad record of 1.77 lakh people dying in road accidents, which is a bit more than the year before.
The government is trying to make roads safer with a plan called the '4Es': teaching people about safety, building better roads, making sure rules are followed, and helping people quickly if there's an accident.
But in NTR district, things are getting better.
They had fewer accidents and deaths in 2025 because they worked together to improve safety.
They put up signs, stopped people from breaking rules, and even thanked people who help accident victims.
They want to make roads even safer next year.
India recorded 1.77 lakh road deaths in 2024, a 2.31% increase from the previous year.
Estimated total accidents in 2024 are close to 4.73 lakh.
Uttar Pradesh had the highest fatalities with over 24,000 deaths, while Kerala had the lowest severity with one death per 13 accidents.
The government's strategy includes education, engineering, enforcement, and emergency care (4Es).
