DDCA Hosts MCC Workshop Ahead of New Cricket Laws
The Delhi cricket association held a training workshop for umpires.
The Marylebone Cricket Club, which looks after cricket’s Laws, led the session.
Umpires learned about rule changes that begin on October 1.
They watched videos and asked questions about how to apply the changes during matches.
A Hindi version of the MCC Laws of Cricket app was also launched.
The app is available in several Indian languages.
Some changes concern cricket-ball measurements, bats and what happens during the final over.
The workshop aims to help umpires make decisions more consistently.

MCC launched its Laws of Cricket app in Hindi, alongside versions in Urdu, Bengali and Kannada.
The new edition tightens ball size and weight tolerances for women’s and junior cricket and permits Type D laminated bats in most adult cricket, subject to regulations.
The revised Laws clarify final-over completion, running, boundary catches, overthrows, dead-ball situations and dismissals.
