Andhra Pradesh to Deliver Advance Ration to Senior Citizens, Disabled
The government in Andhra Pradesh is changing how it delivers food rations to people who are older or have disabilities.
Instead of delivering it at the beginning of the month, they will now get their rations during the last five days of the previous month.
This is to make it easier for them.
The service already helps many people, with almost 13 lakh people benefiting from home delivery.
The government is also working on making the whole process more efficient and transparent, like using less paper.
Andhra Pradesh will deliver rations to senior citizens and differently-abled individuals five days in advance each month.
The home delivery service has benefited nearly 13 lakh elderly and differently-abled persons.
Ration distribution for these groups will occur between the 26th and 30th of each month.
