New US Bill Requires Fathers to Cover 50% of Pregnancy Costs
A new bill in the US called the 'Supporting Healthy Pregnancy Act' has been introduced by Representative Ashley Hinson.
This bill wants to make sure that fathers help pay for at least half of the medical costs when a baby is on the way.
This includes things like doctor visits and health insurance, but not abortion costs.
The mother has to ask for this help first.
Hinson has also introduced other bills to help pregnant women, like one that tells them about the support they can get in schools.
She says she wants to make life easier for moms and families.
Representative Ashley Hinson introduced the 'Supporting Healthy Pregnancy Act' bill.
The bill requires fathers to cover 50% of out-of-pocket pregnancy and delivery costs.
