US Imposes New Fees on Foreign Work Permit Applicants
The US government is starting to charge some immigrants more money to work here.
If you are seeking asylum, parole, or have temporary protected status, you now have to pay fees for your work permit.
This includes a fee to apply, a fee for renewals, and an annual fee while your asylum application is being reviewed.
These new fees are in addition to existing fees.
If you are an employer, you also have responsibilities to ensure all employees are authorized to work in the US.
Any applications sent without the correct fees from July 2025 will be rejected.
USCIS is implementing new fees for certain immigrants seeking work permits.
Foreigners applying for asylum, parole, and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) now face new fees.
Initial EAD applications for these groups cost $550, renewals cost $275.
An annual $100 Asylum Fee (AAF) is introduced for pending asylum applications.
Fees apply to applications postmarked on or after July 22, 2025, and forms without fees will be rejected from August 21, 2025.
