Mayor Promises Rs 10 Lakh Aid After Worker’s Killing

A sanitation worker named Anil was stabbed and killed while collecting garbage in Delhi.

Police said the alleged attacker, Nihal, wanted to hurt someone else because of a family disagreement.

Instead, police said, he encountered Anil and attacked him.

Nihal was later arrested.

Anil’s coworkers protested because they wanted more help for his family.

The mayor offered Rs 10 lakh and a job for one family member.

The workers demanded Rs 1 crore and a permanent government job.

The AAP and the mayor also disagreed about how the protests and an MLA’s alleged detention were handled.
