Google Offers College Students Free Gemini Plans For One Year
Google is giving eligible college students a free year of some paid AI services.
Students in the United States can get Google AI Pro, while students in India and many other countries can get Google AI Plus.
These plans let students use Gemini more often and provide extra cloud storage.
Google has also made a special student hub inside Gemini.
Students can upload notes and class materials to create study plans, flashcards, quizzes, and lessons.
Gemini can help find topics a student needs to practice more.
It can also make interactive pictures, tables, and 3D models to explain difficult ideas.
Gemini Live lets students talk about homework and research, including reports prepared by Deep Research.
Students must complete Google's verification and sign-up process, and the subscription may become paid after the free year.
Eligible college students in the United States can receive Google AI Pro free for 12 months, while students in India and more than 140 other countries can receive Google AI Plus.
Google AI Pro includes higher Gemini usage limits, Gemini Spark, Gemini features in Gmail and Google Docs, 5TB of storage, and Google Health benefits.
Google AI Plus includes Gemini Omni, higher usage limits, and 400GB of storage; reports differ on whether its usage limits are doubled or quadrupled.
A new Gemini student hub offers study notebooks, flashcards, practice and diagnostic quizzes, personalized lessons, study plans, and progress tracking.
Students can use uploaded course materials, interactive visualizations, and Gemini Live with Deep Research to support studying and research.
