India's Coffee Exports Rise Amidst Global Price Uptrend
India's coffee exports made more money this year, even though they shipped less coffee.
This is because coffee prices around the world have gone up.
The price increase is due to issues in major coffee-producing countries like Brazil and Vietnam.
European buyers are also now asking for coffee that meets new environmental rules, called EUDR.
These rules require coffee to be grown without deforestation.
Because of this, some Indian coffee exporters might find it challenging to meet the new rules.
India's coffee exports increased by 24% in value from January to August 2025.
Export volume decreased by 11% during the same period.
The unit value per tonne increased by 45% due to rising global coffee prices.
Robusta exports decreased by 22%, while Arabica exports grew by 11.5%.
European buyers are requesting EUDR-compliant coffees, posing challenges to exporters.
