Telangana Speaker Dismisses MLA Disqualification Petitions
The Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, Gaddam Prasad Kumar, made a big decision today.
He said that five MLAs who were accused of switching parties should not be disqualified.
These MLAs are Arikepudi Gandhi, Tellam Venkata Rao, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, Prakash Goud, and Gudem Mahipal Reddy.
The BRS party, which filed the complaint, said the MLAs won their seats as BRS members but later joined the Congress party.
The Speaker said there wasn't enough proof to show they had really switched parties.
The BRS leaders are unhappy and plan to challenge this decision in court.
The Supreme Court had earlier told the Speaker to make a decision by December 18.
