Hormuz LNG Shipments Surge, Offering India Supply Relief

Hormuz LNG Shipments Surge, Offering India Supply Relief

More ships carrying liquefied natural gas, or LNG, passed through the Strait of Hormuz in September.

This was the busiest month since the Iran-US-Israel conflict began in February.

One source counted 19 cargoes, while another counted 21.

Most of the cargoes came from Qatar, and some came from the United Arab Emirates.

Several ships travelled toward India.

One ship began unloading its gas at Hazira port in Gujarat.

This could help India get enough gas during a period of strong energy demand.

However, the route is still affected by regional uncertainty, so supplies are not completely safe yet.
