Court Denies Transfer of Activist Sonam Wangchuk
Sonam Wangchuk, a climate activist, has been on a hunger strike for 21 days.
His wife wanted to move him from a government hospital to a private one because she didn't trust the government hospital.
The court said no because they think he is getting good care.
The court also said that the government was right to take him to the hospital because he wasn't going on his own.
The court wants to check on his health soon and will talk about it again later.
The Delhi High Court denied a request to transfer climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital to a private hospital.
Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, filed a plea citing lack of trust in the government hospital and concerns over his treatment.
The court stated that Wangchuk is not in detention and his family has access to him, with no interim order required at this stage.
The court scheduled a status update on Wangchuk's health within three days and set the next hearing for July 24.
Wangchuk was forcibly taken to the hospital by the Delhi Police on the 21st day of his hunger strike, which began on June 28.
