Japan's Pickleball Bet: Companies Build Robust Federation Model
Pickleball is a fun sport played with a paddle and a plastic ball.
In Japan, two groups that looked after pickleball decided to join together.
They became one group called the Pickleball Japan Federation.
Being one group makes pickleball stronger and better organized.
This new group joined a worldwide pickleball organization.
That means Japan is now part of the global pickleball family.
A big Japanese sports organization also said the group is official.
Three big companies agreed to help the group as Grand Slam Partners.
With company help, pickleball can grow and get more players.
This is good news for people who love pickleball in Japan.
The Pickleball Japan Federation merged with the Japan Pickleball Association to form a unified governing body.
The unified federation is recognized globally as a member of the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF).
The federation was officially recognized by the Japan Sport Association on June 24.
Sansan, Mitsui Fudosan, and Kenedix were named the federation's first Grand Slam Partners.
