TGBIE Requests Poll Duty Exemption for College Staff
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has asked the State Election Commission to excuse its college staff from election duties.
This is because the staff, which includes 19,241 teachers and 2,603 non-teaching staff, will be busy with exams from January 21 to March 18.
The exams include English practicals, ethics, environmental education, and other subjects.
The TGBIE believes that the staff's presence is crucial for the exams, so they should not be given election duties during this time.
TGBIE requested exemption from poll duty for 21,844 college staff during local bodies’ elections.
Staff includes 19,241 teaching and 2,603 non-teaching personnel.
Exams scheduled from January 21 to March 18, including practical and theory exams.
TGBIE cited the need for staff coordination, invigilation, and supervision during exams.
Exemption requested for municipal, urban, and rural local body polls.
