Sikkim landslide: Amit Shah assures help
A big landslide happened in Sikkim, India, near a tunnel that was being built.
This tunnel is part of a big project to make electricity from water.
The landslide blocked the entrance of the tunnel and caused a gas leak.
Because of the gas, it's very hard for rescuers to save the 27 workers who are trapped inside.
Eight workers have already died.
The Home Minister of India, Amit Shah, talked to the Chief Minister of Sikkim and promised to help as much as possible.
The gas is coming from the rocks and ground that were moved by the landslide.
Rescuers are having a tough time because the gas makes them dizzy and sometimes they pass out.
A landslide at an under-construction tunnel in Namchi district, Sikkim, blocked the entrance and triggered a suspected gas leak.
27 workers were trapped inside the NHPC Teesta Stage VI Hydroelectric Project tunnel.
Eight workers were killed in the incident.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and assured all possible help from the Centre.
The rescue operation is complicated by the presence of gas, causing rescuers to experience dizziness and lose consciousness.
