Delhi L-G Approves Honorary Ranks for Lower-Rank Cops

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, V K Saxena, has approved a special honor for lower-ranking police officers.

When these officers retire, they will get a higher honorary rank, one level above their current position.

This applies to officers from the rank of constable up to sub-inspector.

More than 88,000 officers will benefit from this decision.

To get this honor, officers must have served at least two years in their current rank, have good performance reports for the last five years, and not have faced any serious punishments.

However, this promotion does not come with any extra money or pension benefits.

It's a way to show appreciation for their long service and to boost the morale of both serving and retiring officers.
