IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Rain in 12 Maharashtra Districts
The weather office in India, called IMD, has put out a special warning for many parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai.
This warning, called a 'Yellow Alert', means that light rain is expected for a short time, about three hours.
This is because a big storm, known as a depression, is moving in the nearby Arabian Sea.
This storm is bringing wet air and could cause thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds for the next five days.
People in the affected areas are told to be careful, stay alert, and try to avoid places where water might collect if it rains heavily.
IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for light rain spells over 12 districts in Maharashtra for the next three hours.
The affected districts include Jalgaon, Dhule, Nashik, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli, Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, and Pune.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, stay alert, and avoid waterlogged areas.
The weather system is a depression over the eastern-central Arabian Sea moving northeastward.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are expected over the region for the next five days.
