APSRTC Employees Launch Statewide Campaign for More Buses and Staff
The employees of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) are starting a campaign to collect signatures from people all over the state.
They want the government to provide more buses and hire more staff.
This is because a new scheme called Sthree Shakti, which allows free bus travel for women, has increased the number of passengers by a lot.
The employees also want the government to buy and operate electric buses instead of private companies.
They plan to submit the collected signatures to the Chief Minister on July 27 and will announce the next steps of their campaign on July 30.
APSRTC employees launch statewide signature campaign starting July 20.
Campaign aims to address rising demand and staff shortages due to the Sthree Shakti free bus travel scheme.
Employees demand additional buses, electric bus procurement, and recruitment of nearly 15,000 personnel.
Signatures will be submitted to the Chief Minister on July 27 through district collectors.
Third phase of the agitation to be announced in Vijayawada on July 30.
