Rakhi Sawant Backs Gen Z Amid SIR Voter List Row
Rakhi Sawant spoke about a disagreement over changes to voter lists.
She asked why Kangana Ranaut had not spoken about it and said she supports young people.
Sawant did not attend a protest in Mumbai because she was working that day.
The protest group wants the voter-list revision paused and changes to the rules for the Election Commission.
Some critics say the revision removes too many voters and helps the ruling party.
The Election Commission says the three commissioners agreed on the decisions.
Police did not allow the planned gathering at Shivaji Park, and later registered 17 cases connected to the protest.
Police say they are investigating and will decide what to do next based on evidence.
Rakhi Sawant questioned BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s silence on the SIR controversy and said she supports Gen Z.
Sawant said she missed the Cockroach Janta Party protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park because she was shooting on October 2.
Critics say the voter-roll revision has caused mass deletions and benefits the ruling party; the Election Commission rejects those claims.
The Election Commission said its three commissioners unanimously supported SIR decisions, disputing reports of internal disagreement.
Mumbai Police registered 17 FIRs linked to the protest and said further action would depend on evidence.
