Howrah Identifies Alternative Dumping Site, Resolving Waste Issues
Imagine a big pile of trash in Howrah, India, that's been there for a long time.
It got so big that it caused problems, like damaging roads.
After a recent issue with the trash pile, the government has finally found a new place for the trash.
They're also trying to clean up the old trash and collect waste in a better way.
This is because the old trash area is too big and causing trouble, and finding a new place has been a long process.
This could finally solve the problem of overflowing garbage.
Howrah authorities have identified a new location for a dumping ground.
This comes after the Belgachhia dump yard disaster in March.
The Calcutta High Court first ordered a search for an alternative site 22 years ago.
The existing site is a 100-acre plot.
The administration has started bio-mining and segregated waste collection.
