Uttar Pradesh Reports Major Expansion in Medical Education and Health Coverage
Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister says the state has added many medical colleges since 2017.
He says the number grew from 36 to 85.
He also says there are now more than 13,600 places for students to study medicine, compared with 4,690 before.
The government says its plan is to have a medical college in every district.
This could help more people get treatment closer to home.
Adityanath also said more than 10 crore people are covered by two health programmes.
He said these programmes can help people pay for care when they have serious illnesses.

Adityanath said more than 10 crore people in Uttar Pradesh are covered by two health schemes.
