Delhi's Tehkhand Waste-to-Energy Plant to Undergo Expansion
The Tehkhand waste-to-energy plant in Delhi is getting bigger!
It currently turns a lot of trash into electricity.
The plan is to build new facilities and convert even more waste.
It also will turn waste water and other materials into biogas and Bio-CNG.
This expansion will cost a lot of money, but they already have the land.
The plant uses special systems to control pollution, but it's near a wildlife sanctuary.
They are working to manage any risks such as pollution and the plant's expected to create more jobs.
The Tehkhand WTE plant is undergoing a major expansion.
The expansion will cost Rs 900 crore and add 20 MW of power generation.
The plant currently processes 2,000 tonnes of waste daily and generates 25 MW of electricity.
The expansion includes biogas production and Bio-CNG.
The project involves potential ecological risks, including air and water pollution.
