Indian Army Promotes Tourism and Community Bonds
The Indian Army is helping two beautiful places in India, Yumthang Valley in Sikkim and Dzukou Valley in Nagaland, to attract more tourists and teach people about nature.
In Yumthang Valley, they gave special camping and adventure gear to the local people so they can set up safe and fun adventure camps for visitors.
This valley is famous for its pretty flowers and hot springs.
In Dzukou Valley, the Army organized a trek for students to teach them about teamwork, nature, and keeping the environment clean.
The students camped overnight, sang songs, and even helped clean the valley.
These activities are part of the Army's efforts to support tourism and build stronger connections with the local communities.
The trek was also a warm-up for the big Hornbill Festival, which celebrates the rich culture of the region.
Indian Army provided high-altitude adventure equipment to Yumthang Valley in North Sikkim to boost community-led tourism.
The Red Shield Division of the Indian Army organized a two-day trek to Dzukou Valley, Nagaland, for students to promote teamwork, environmental awareness, and community ties.
Equipment provided to Yumthang Valley includes camping gear, climbing essentials, safety kits, and cooking sets.
The trek in Dzukou Valley involved 50 students and 4 teachers from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Viswema, and included a cleanliness drive as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Both initiatives aim to enhance local capabilities, promote responsible tourism, and strengthen bonds between the Indian Army and local communities.
