Zydus Receives Canadian Approval for Smoking Cessation Aid
Zydus Lifesciences can now sell their smoking cessation pills in Canada.
Health Canada gave them the green light to sell ZDS-Varenicline tablets.
These tablets help people stop smoking by partially activating brain receptors.
The medicine will be made in Ahmedabad.
Varenicline tablets already have a significant market in Canada.
Zydus Lifesciences received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Health Canada.
The NOC is for ZDS-Varenicline tablets (0.5 & 1 mg).
Varenicline is used as an aid in smoking cessation.
It acts as a partial nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist.
The tablets will be produced in Ahmedabad, India.
