Goa's International Cricket Stadium Construction to Begin by 2028
Imagine a new cricket stadium in Goa, India.
It's been planned since 2011!
The government says construction should start by 2028.
The group in charge of cricket, the GCA, got land a long time ago, but hasn't started building yet.
They have some of the approvals they need.
They've also received a lot of money from a bigger cricket group, the BCCI, but it's currently safe in the bank.
They need to follow the rules and show where the money goes, with checks by internal and external auditors, and the government.
It's all to make sure everything is done correctly.
Construction of the Goa international cricket stadium is set to begin by 2028.
The project has been delayed despite land allocation to the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) 14 years ago.
The GCA has secured some required No Objection Certificates (NOCs) but hasn't started construction yet.
The stadium will be built on 1,89,930 square meters of land.
GCA received Rs 100 crore from the BCCI, currently in fixed deposits.
